Patty's New Car...

Here's the short version. I looked at the dealer inventory. I spoke with Karen (Shirey). The car we were interested in had been sold. She described the one that Pat bought. She gave me a price. I called Pat and we both agreed it seemed to be a good price. Pat had originally planned to place an ad and sell her's; however, I called Karen and asked her to give me a ballpark figure on Pat's car which she did by e-mail. The upper figure would be pretty good, so we drove the car up not exactly knowing what to expect. And, what they offered we thought was a fair and reasonable offer, expecially considering they had already offered her a decent discount in addition to the $5,000 Mazda rebate. Pat traded the car.
Karen, who has been in the car business 20 years, was great and did exactly what she said she would. No messing around...and no trying to sell stuff Pat didn't want or need.

BTW, they are in Preston, Maryland, which should be an easy drive for folks in the mid-Atlantic states. From Virginia Beach it was about a three hour drive, most of which was on highway 13.
